About the Author
Naoki Urasawa's career as a manga artist spans more than twenty years and has firmly established him as one of the true manga masters of Japan. Born in Tokyo in 1960, Urasawa debuted with BETA! in 1983 and hasn't stopped his impressive output since. Many of his books have spawned popular animated and live-action TV programs and films, and 2008 saw the theatrical release of the first of three live-action Japanese films based on 20th Century Boys. No stranger to accolades and awards, Urasawa received the 2011 and 2013 Eisner Award for Best U.S. Edition of International Material—Asia, and is a three-time recipient of the prestigious Shogakukan Manga Award, a two-time recipient of the Osamu Tezuka Cultural Prize, and also received the Kodansha Manga Award. 20th Century Boys is truly a one of a kind story. I won't spoil anything for those who may be new to the series, but if you wonder if the story is for you and you like manga, it doesn't get much better than this. This is a 'Perfect' (See what I did there? Perfect edition. Nailed it.) place to start your collection. Each book contains two volumes of the previous release for a small fraction more than what one of the original books cost. It's a great deal.For people who have the old series, there isn't a ton of new things I can personally argue would make this purchase justifiable. The panels that were originally released in color are in color this time around (the original was entirely black and white) but that's pretty much it. There aren't that many either. Maybe 20 color pages, tops. There's a new cover too, but that's it. 20 or so color pages and a new cover. I don't mind having this because 20th CB is my favorite manga ever, but if you own the older editions already, there really isn't anything for you here that will enhance the story or anything. Enjoy reading one of the greatest stories ever told! I am not joking at all when I say that I named my daughter after a character in this book because the story had such a profound impact on me. Her name is Kanna and without this book, she wouldnt have the name that i know her by. This story truly is one of the greats.
Amazing manga, give it a shot if you haven’t. I can’t and don’t want to explain why. It’s just special and essential.
Naoki Urasawa is probably one of the best writers in the mystery genre. And this Perfect Edition makes collecting 20th Century Boys a lot easier. I'll definitely be looking towards the release of each volume. Urasawa's art is also really unique, the color pages and double page spreads also a large plus in these volume.The first volume depicts the early life of both Kenji and "Friend", setting up all the characters, establishing the back story and prepping for the conflicts ahead.

Great product, great quality, one of the best Mangas I've ever had the chance to read, would recommend to any Sci fi fans. This is one of the few Mangas you can notice a lot more stuff reading it for the second time
