I was disappointed in this. I LOVED to listen to this program on radio, but this was more about the best, most wild stories they heard. I loved the everyday issues with the everyday person.

Even if you aren't a car person (and I am not! Know nothing about them!), you will love Car Talk. The Tappet brothers are so funny as they respond to calls about cars which always lead to hilarious conversations about relationships and life in general. This is an excellent program! It is smart, warm and so funny! No wonder it was on NPR for so many years! You will laugh out loud!

My husband and I love to listen to these guys when we go on road trips, they are so funny. This was really good. We're sorry Tommy is gone, but hope they will take previous shows and put them on CD to listen to.

I miss hearing Click and Clack on the radio. I love hearing their laughter! I love my cds of their best shows. They are goofy, but smart and truly funny too.

I grew up listening to Tom and Ray. They are the reason I troubleshoot. I wish I could find more. But if u love car talk, u will love this disc.

If I like something, I am usually pretty generous with my ratings. I enjoyed this book so much I would have to put it a star above other books I rated as five stars. The art and story are incredible. Usually, I am not a big fan of art that is too cartoonish. Example: anime that are drawn seriously until something shocking happens, and then the faces turn into cartoon faces, with big round eyes, no nose, and a huge open mouth. I prefer the style of Jorge Molina from Marvel's A-Force, where the characters have realistic but humorous expressions. The art in this book borders on cartoon, but is oh so creative. The stylized humans and creatures are great. And the story is so captivating, I couldn't put it down. I am already onto the second volume. Highly recommended!

"RUMBLE!" breaks the mold of what good visceral, epic tale telling can be. John Arcudi's dialog is crisp and has a sharp wit, somewhat self deprecating too. The back story of the characters is arresting. The best part is even the bit players have parts, including the minor demons that are introduced and... well, I'm not giving that away. This is a big world story that comfortably fits on the page and delivers all the bells and whistles without being the actual bloated epic it could be. Best of all, Bobby, the bartender could have been a joke. He's skinny, unsure of himself, but he has a lot of character and this appears to be his reluctant chance to be someone with more going on. His buddy Del is a lot of fun, full of beans, but not so bright. Rathraq, the warrior god is kind of inspired by old world tales of demigods, eternal but also vulnerable. He's mean and powerful but a defender of humanity, and I like that he's NOT Conan or Thor, but kind of a nod to both. Anyway, he wants his body back. Old demons with serious attitudes and their own ancient grudges have it.That's all I'm saying.This was in my top three comics this year and I'm pleased the collection has arrived. There's more to come as the series continues to unfold. Even my wife liked it.

I'm a fan of John Arcudi's writing on B.P.R.D. and James Harren's artwork, so I thought I'd check out this series. I'm a little biased in favor of this book since I got to meet Harren at Emerald City Comic Con '15 and he was gracious enough to take some time and give me a really helpful critique of my comic book art portfolio. It was fun to see his original art for BPRD - full of ink splatters, white out and glued in fixes. While many artists (including myself) have switched to drawing digitally, Harren has committed to doing things the old fashioned way and as a result his work has a lot of kinetic energy missing from a lot of books. Arcudi's weird run-dow, demon infested story allows Harren to really cut loose with a more exaggerated style than BPRD, while the (human) characters themselves remain a bit more down to earth.I use the Wizard of Oz as a comparison in my heading, but I'm talking about L. Frank Baum's book, which is much stranger than the movie, where we learn the Woodsman became made of tin after accidentally hacking himself to pieces with a cursed ax. There are a few really great moments in Rumble, especially a couple pages of a dumpster diving cat and a three-legged dog that actually made me laugh out loud. There is a lot of promise for more bizarre stories to come, but I do think as an introduction it fell a little short of my high hopes. I usually find expositional narrative boxes in comics to be lazy and tedious, but I think a little bit more context would have been helpful for this fast paced story. The cover character, a Conan-type, warrior-possessed scarecrow, doesn't seem so out of place when set amongst a rundown city full of colorful characters and demonic entities. One of the things that works about Hellboy is how bizarre he looks standing next to regular people in regular places. Here, everything looks weird and so some of the impact of the intrusive fantasy/demonic elements is lost. I'm also not sure who I'm supposed to be rooting for yet.That being said, this series is packed with enough action and humor to keep me interested. Arcudi's strength in BPRD was rounding out one-dimensional characters in the established Hellboy universe, so I'm hopeful the second arc will help flesh out the world and characters a bit. Also, James Harren draws some of best monsters in the business.

This was a very enjoyable graphic novel. I honestly wasn't quite sure what to expect when I got this tp. First the art is a bit cartoony but very enjoyable. The characters are also really cool I especially liked the the designs for the monsters there is indeed a hydra and a scarecrow war god also of note is a shaman like character, an evil queen and a badass fire demon. At first I wasn't sure about the story just because it doesn't really explain what's going on right away so it was a bit harder to follow on my first read through but I have since read through several times and I am eager for volume 2

Visceral and without just quoting the cover, TRULY kinetic in the purest artistic sense of the word. Finished in one sitting and ordered the next two straight away. Style is cartoonish yet grotesque. Clear but stylized. Story is fantasy meets everyday Joes.

Great monster massacre stuff, funny and fast paced. Graphic violence only if you are scared off by the image of something like Ren and Stimpy getting disemboweled, because that's about the style we are talking about here. Colorful and easy to get into.

This work fully realizes the comic book format - buy it if you're a fan of graphic story telling. Let's all hope there's a volume four someday.

I wanted to make the lounge pants in here and was looking forward to easy sewing. To my surprise there was no pattern in this book. There are apparently patterns that come with the physical book, but were not included in the Kindle edition, not even measurements that you could draw yourself. I quickly scanned through the book to see if there were any other patterns for projects and there weren't. What is the point of this book if you don't have patterns to use or directions to follow to make your own. Save yourself the hassle and don't get the Kindle version!

Amy butler designs beautiful fabrics, and has some great ideas, but as for patterns this is not so good. if you want an idea book this is a great addition or as a picture book. the problems with the book are as follows:most projects are lacking clear concise diagrams, and photo's of completed projects.the instructions are not for beginners. if you have very little experience sewing, this is not for you. if you have no experience in pattern design or alteration you will be at a loss.the instructions for the patterns assume you are an experience sewer, and as such will catch the necessary steps not mentioned. like cutting lining pressing for seams, how to turn seams, make corners, etc..Many projects are lacking patterns completely, or the patterns are incomplete.

This book has a lot of good ideas for putting together personal items and things for the home - it's great for handmade gift-giving! I have made a few of the projects, including the bedside organizer and the quilted tote and they came together beautifully. However, the instructions often held me back by their extreme detail. Over-explaining every step can be frustrating for both beginner and advanced sewist alike. I started using this book right after I first began to sew and found the verbose instructions to be really intimidating, even on basic projects. Every stitch is explained to the point that there can be no confusion. This is good....but now as a fairly advanced seamstress, I still find them to be intimidating and hampering. I constantly have to read and reread each paragraph, feeling that I am missing something. For the last project I did, I just abandoned the instructions altogether and finished the project on my own knowledge of sewing.Also, as a quilter, the patchwork blanket piecing seems a bit overly complicated in that the quilt isn't pieced in the traditional manner, and uses way more fabric than necessary. I don't think the blanket would wear evenly over time.In all, very well constructed patterns but they scream for concision.

I'm a beginner sewer and had only used a sewing machine once or twice before. I found most of the projects in here to be things I will want to make. I made one of the bags with no problem at all, although I did find the instructions a bit confusing at one point. As another reviewer mentioned, the pictures in the instructions could be clearer. I did find that the projects would probably be too easy for people who have already done several projects before. Thus I would recommend going to the bookstore and flipping through the book before purchasing. If you've never used a sewing machine before and do not like the idea of improvising occasionally, I would recommend purchasing additional sewing books or having a friend handy since this is a project book and was not written to guide you through all the steps of sewing.

I really enjoyed this book, it has such great ideas, but a lot of them aren't "new", as another reviewer has already pointed out. I don't really need one more pattern for an apron... or another purse. The real thing that sets them apart is her use of her own fabric lines - which are very swanky but also very expensive. I really found her instructions to be overwhelming and too wordy; should it really be so hard to make a patchwork quilt, seeing as it's supposed to give the impression of being put together at random?All that being said, I do still enjoy the photography, the compilation of the ideas (as almost things to create for all aspects of your life), the diagrams and figures, and the inspiration. I definitely recommend this book, but just make sure to not fall into the trap of only buying her fabrics! They look fantastic, and I do love them, but all of your projects will cost you hundreds of dollars.

If you like hip, modern projects with stylish fabric potential, then you will enjoy Amy Butler's book. These projects are fun and are easy to sew. So far, I've made the bag with leather straps, though I did have a difficult time locating a retailer who sells leather straps, I had to go online to purchase the straps; nevertheless, the instructions were easy to follow. Her instructions are very detailed and they even provide visual layouts with patterns (you don't have to go to a copier center to enlarge the patterns unlike most project books). Though these projects may be advanced for the beginner, I still recommend it to the passionate crafter. I have not been sewing for many years and I was still able to sew the project within hours.Amy continues to strive for projects that are modern and fresh. With creativity and style... anyone can produce these hip projects.

I like sewing but I'm not good at coming up with my own ideas for quilting. I am currently working on the throw quilt in this book and love how it's turning out so far! The instructions are super easy for anyone to follow and the layout is simple yet the end result is a sophisticated-looking quilt. I was able to use most of the fabric I already had on hand since I tend to do a lot of my projects in the same color scheme. but I'm already thinking of making a couple more for Christmas gifts. I would recommend this book for the beginner to novice quilter/seamstress.
