For those of you who might be interested in turtles/terrapins, get a copy of this little book ! Years ago I used to raise painted turtles and I so much enjoyed them, learned a lot about them. Since then I have spent many times rescuing turtles from the road that people would carelessly run over & kill with not a thought about them at all. Unun, I rescue them, as they are on the downswing and could become extinct if people don't care to watch out not to kill them. This book is an educational foray into the world of turtles and terrapins worldwide, but mostly in No America. I think the book is an excellent addition to any child's or adult's library. The information contained in this book is outstanding in it's accuracy, and the photos are sensational. You will see photos of turtles you probably have never even heard of from various parts of the world. As well as photos of those turtles we are familiar with here in the USA. Parents, educate your children about turtles and how valuable they are too our environment, how they have been around for millions of years, and that we MUST, as a society, protect our wildlife, and not just the warm/fuzzy ones, but the turtles and their relatives as well. Book was in great condition for a used book, and packed nicely, arrived very quickly, and a great bargain price too ! I gave this book to a friend's children who love turtles. Thank you !!

Got this book for our son for Christmas to help him learn how to take care of his new turtles. It was a great book, nice information for him to learn. They have done really well. Would purchase again.

This book is not about how to spend high money on products to keep your turtle alive and thats why I love it!It tells you everything! Even what you can put your little friend in until you can get the right tank.It is my go to book if I have a question like "what is on her shell, is it bad?" So I search the book and find out what I can do to help or if I need a visit to the vet.Fantastic read.

I'm a long time admirer of Zig Ziglar. He has a warmth, depth and sensitivity that makes me marvel at how often he does it. This is another book I intended to glance through and keep in my library. For personal reasons, I found the subject matter so painful. Instead, I have spent a weekend deeply immersed and wishing I'd had this book in past times when I've been nearly ripped apart by grief that wouldn't quit hurting. It's plain that his wonderful family ties give him roots, but Zig's roots, as do those of all of us, go back to God. And it is in these beautiful and healing passages about God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit that I wept and found solace that I will use again and again.I cannot recommend Confessions of a Grieving Christian highly enough. Mr. Ziglar lays out steps he took trying to heal an almost impossible grief at the death of his firstborn, Suzan, taken unto God's bosom in her prime. It is beautifully written, rich with deep emotion and he shares the wealth of his big heart, his love of God, family and the world he lives in and contributes so much to. It is one of a few books I've seen lately that has a cover that announces its beauty and proceeds to open that beauty out like a blossoming rose. He helps heal as only one can who has deep and abiding faith, true belief and soul-deep trust in God.

Received this after the death of a loved one. It was hard to start reading, just because of the memories, but I kept on. I could identify with many of the emotions the author described when talking about the loss of his loved one. When I finished it I felt more peaceful...still miss my loved one terribly, but this book really helped. Have it given it as a gift to several other people who have been in the same situation.

One of the books that has really helped me through grief is the book Confessions of a Grieving Christian by Zig Ziglar. The author explores the grief process from a spiritual aspect, with many references to scripture. He writes "I encourage people who are buying the book as a gift for a grieving loved one to wait from six to eight weeks after the death before giving them this book. I believe that the message in Grieving Christian is most effective when the reader has had time to ride out the roughest waves of their initial emotions."Each chapter explores a phase of the grief experience, from the initial shock of losing someone you love to the wave of emotions that follow. Ziglar points out that people grieve differently and this is helpful in responding to family members who may express their emotions different from yours. He teaches the reader not "how to get over it" but rather how to live with grief. He says "No one is immune from the fact of grief. Grief is woven throughout the tapestry of life. " The most obvious form of grief is through death, and the more we love the more we grieve, according to Ziglar. Yet many people also grieve the loss of a marriage, loss of a home, loss of fertility or loss of ability through illness. It's crucial to recognize and acknowledge grief in ourselves and in others."If our departed ones could come back to us and tell us about their experiences with the Lord in heaven, I feel certain they would tell us three things. First, they would tell us to concentrate on the way they were when they were at their best in this life. Second, they would tell us to enjoy our lives to the fullest and choose to fill them with the best memories and experiences possible. Third, they would tell us to spend more time getting to know Christ better." It was okay and a good read. My heart is breaking over the loss of my19 year old granddaughter in an accident. Zig's daughter who died was inher 40s, a mother herself and she had been ill. I find that it helps morewhen you are in pain to read things by people who have experienced a lossmore similar to the one you had. My granddaughter will never be a mommywalk down the aisle with her dad nor have a chance to explore her talents.Death of the younger child and the trauma of a sudden loss are different. Look for books written by someone who suffered a loss similar to yours when looking for comfort and encouragement. This did not comfort me.

A very practical for anyone who has experienced a significant loss -- Christian or non-Christian.Also written personally to serve anyone who is on the grief journey.

A lot like a mystery movie / kept my interest and moved amazing ly fast. Quite a good plot with interesting characters. Not a travelogue but still describes the country and people and culture very well.

I truly love the Mrs. Pollifax series of books. She is such a loveable character, and yet is so much more than she seems at first with her geraniums and garden club. I read them the first time many years ago. I am delighted at least some of them have been made ready for Kindle, and I wish they would do the rest. These are books a person can re-read, because it is like going to visit a friend. Perfect for when the cares of the day have worn you out and you just need a good visit with a good friend to set you feeling better.

For a lighthearted enjoyable read, meet 63 year old Mrs. Pollifax. To spruce up her dull life, she wrangles an appointment with the CIA and asks for a spy job. Thus begins a roller coaster ride for the charming and somewhat dotty Mrs. P. Gilman has chosen a great theme for her character and the writing is better than I expected. It's not great literature, but it's a thoroughly enjoyable read.

The 70 year-old protagonist shares many talents with the heroes of the most successful thriller novels. With her calm and calculating personality, her adroit application of ancient martial arts when needed, and her willingness to take risks, she is a match for James Bond and Sam Spade. I would like to see Mrs. Pollifax join forces with Jack Reacher the next time he needs help in saving the world from the forces of evil. What a team they would be.

I love the entire Mrs. Pollifax series. I got this and other books in the series on Kindle so I could reread them when on the treadmill.

My mother said the day that Dorothy Gilman died "Oh no, my life is now completely changed, no more Mrs. Pollifax. I completely agree. I am a total crime book fan, and my favorites of all time are Mrs. Pollifax. I have every book (even duplicates by accident). I don't have a favorite though I try to read them in order --especially on re-reads. The nice thing about re-reads of crime fiction is that you wait a few years and re-read....all new! If you haven't discovered these books, leap across a small mountain to get them. Who doesn't love the little old lady in the CIA. I do!

The Mrs. Pollifax series is wonderful. I read the books years ago and purchased the first 7 books in the series that have been made available for the Kindle. I love these books and I highly recommend them to anyone who wants a good series of books to read. Here's hoping the publisher releases the rest of the series for "us" Kindle readers.

I found this book to be a disappointment since the font size was a bit hard to read due to the smaller than normal book dimensions plus the fact that the classification system used was a little confusing (for example, I would think the F-15 Eagle would be listed in one section with all its variants instead of being split up between the fighter and bomber sections).

Purchased as a gift would like to keep it for myself- it is really impressive- they are ALL in there!

I love airplane books -- from the time I was 7 years old (and I'm now 59). This is an excellent reference book on almost every fighter and bomber ever flown by any air force. Well researched, great photos, yet not overly technical for the non technical minded.

There is a complete index of artists and works.I was impressed by the care that went into this book. Even the cover is amazing. It swings open from the middle, like shutters. When I am stressed or need creative juice, I turn to this book and bask in the beauty. Quite resonably priced, it is guaranteed to uplift and enlighten.

If you are looking for angels - well - this is just a whole lot of glory! Something for the religious, the imaginative, the poetic, the mystical, and the artistic. The structure/presentation of the book is pretty architectural and makes one feel like something very special is in hand. The texts are delightful, some profound, all quite digestible. The thematic arrangement is both instructive and inspiring. A volume to keep about and to return to repeatedly with something new always emerging.

An absolutely beautiful art survey of angels. I can't believe a book this beautiful could be sold for less than two bucks - even used, or possibly remaindered. The cost of printing must have been astronomical, and the three and four panel fold outs are wonderful. Content also sublime.

This volume is so beautiful, I bought an additional copy to send to my little granddaughters to show them, and tell them about the "angels" who surround them constantly throughout their lives. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then this volume shares thousands of words is the most colorful, and amazing way. A treasure and a keep sake for LIFE!

This book is absolutely gorgeous! I used it in a healing class I teach and we all looked at the pictures together to stir our imaginations. The oooo's and ahhh's were loud and many. It's a really big book so the pictures are big and full and engaging. And for the price! Hard to believe it's so inexpensive-

Beautiful! Great color printing job. I loved the cover: it is divided in half down the center so when the book is opened it's like opening the front doors to a cathedral. A great accompanying book to "Messages of Glory."

I love it. As a scientist I cannot progress in some research projects without knowing how to interpret and write Python scripts. This book is amazing. I'm getting it, and I'm proud of myself. Now I can write simple 3-line codes. Yes, I know, that's nothing for the "real programmers", but I'm convinced that at the end of this book, I will rock Python.

I am using this book as a recommended text for my first year physics students who have never programmed before. It is a great introduction to the basic concepts of python coding and has been useful in getting all the students to a point where we can begin to do some physics using Jupyter and pylab in just a week or two.

This book does a decent job of presenting information in very digestible chunks. However, there are just too many errors for it to be useful. You'll type up exactly what is presented to you and find that the code doesn't work. At first I thought this was to showcase examples in debugging, but nope. The book proceeds as if everything went swimmingly. Would recommend Python Crash Course by Eric Matthes instead.

Bought this book to learn the basics of Python - I've programmed in other languages for 50 years. This book reads like it was written by a ninth-grader in high school over a weekend, and never edited by anyone. Many of the examples are confusing or just plain wrong. e.g. page 46: if AX

Book is horribly written! Peppered with typos, missing words and disordered! If it was edited properly, it would be a great foundation for learning python. As it is u have to infer what author was trying to say and thefore, unable to follow. If anything it showed me mostly WRONG things and not teach the 'right'. Too bad, could have been the best intro to Python book

Good first book for those who want a basic understanding. The book looks cheap and and has some grammatical issues in description. Code examples are easy to follow.

This book does a great job explaining the python programming. Also, it is well organized so when you are coding it is easy to reference.
