When most fairytale adaptions have princes kiss sleeping princesses, there's a brief encounter between the two at the beginning of the story to establish a mutual attraction and show that the prince isn't just kissing a total stranger while she's asleep.In this adaption, the prince is shown for the first time arriving at the dwarves' cottage. He finds out they have an unconscious girl in their home and asks to see her, then kisses the complete stranger while she sleeps.I bought this for my little niece but was shocked to see how this scenario plays out. I worried that I was overthinking it so I showed my sister/my niece's mom, and she was also pretty grossed out by it and was thankful I didn't give it to her daughter. I replaced it with the Once Upon a World Cinderella.I was hoping to give my mixed-Asian niece some Asian representation in her books, but it won't be from this one.

I absolutely adore the Once Upon a World series! Chloe Perkins' retellings are straightforward but have a timeless quality that allows them to be revisited over and over again. And, of course, the culturally diverse illustrations provide bright, eye-catching, and aesthetically unique takes on these classic stories. And as a fan of anime and video games, Misa Saburi's rendering of Japan is a particular delight!With as many iterations of these fairy tales as there are, I've loved being able to build a definitive collection of boardbooks whose illustrations and writing both maintain a consistently world-class quality. Reading Snow White to my baby is a bedtime treat for both daddy and daughter, so now I'm eagerly awaiting The Princess and the Pea... and anywhere else these books will take us!

I thought a reimagining version of Snow White would involve a more modern take on the story. This is the same creepy story but with beautiful illustrations. I love the illustrations, but we won’t be keeping this book because it still involves an entitled prince sexually assaulting an unconscious woman. And teaches the lesson that physical beauty is basically the only important trait for women.Should’ve checked it out a bookstore first, I never would have bought this book.

I enjoyed this series so much- what a new way to read a classical princess story! Bravo!Illustration was very charming too.Highly recommend.

This was a good read. Lots of good info about the positives of keeping a horse barefoot. No negativity toward shoes, but clearly showing barefoot is generally healthier for the whole horse. Went into nutrition, which was nice, but none/most of the products they recommend are only available in the UK. Wish it outlined the nutritive values of their recommendations and the ingredients so a similar product could be found in the US. There are no instructions on how to barefoot trim, which was disappointing to me. I have Pete Ramey's book, Maureen Tierney's Hoof Guided Method book and have gleaned ideas from many different websites of barefoot trimmers,all useful with different animals as I feel there is no perfect trim or perfect hoof. Was hoping this book would provide some new or different info on barefoot trimming. Pete Ramey's book is by far the best step by step book I've seen if anyone is looking to do their own hoof trims.

I bought this book to help me improve my skills & knowledge in trimming. I was taught by my Vet & my farrier to trim my own horse, but am not professional. I wanted to get more info on the barefoot trim. (especially since there is so much controversy of opinion out there about barefoot trimming vs. shoeing) This book has a lot of great points on barefoot trimming & management. And it does not go overboard on the "evils" of shoeing. Shoeing is mentioned with pros & cons. They focus a lot on the proper management of staying barefoot -even with very athletic horses. They go deeper than just the trim itself- they mention diet, terrain, usage, and more.I think this book is a great addition to anyone's library about keeping your horse barefoot. I wouldn't say it's The One & Only book on barefoot horses, but it's definitely educational.

I bought this for my daughter who has not had shoes on her horse for years. She has found it amazingly helpful and in fact changed her hoof practitioner as a result because her horses hooves were not looking like they should. I have perused the book and to my mind, and in light of my daughters enthusiastic response to it, it appears to be a must have for those who do, or are considering, barefoot riding.

Great book with a lot of information. The book is about maintaining hooves, not how to trim them. I love Rockley Farms blog as well.. truly inspirational in terms of helping horses move towards barefoot and then how to successfully help them stay there.

There are many important books on all the subjects this one book put together in one "story" - the authors own. This is the book I would like to get translated into many big and small languages, to reach most people. The only book so far, that connect English sportsriding with amarican knowledge of natural horsekeeping. I wish you could reach into the Danish riding society.I bought it becourse I had red it first from the public library.

Excellent book! I devoured this one, from cover to cover within a couple of days. My boyfriend is going to read it next.

SUPER material!

This is a very comprehensive book on barefoot hoofcare. Well written and easy to understand- read it in less than two days! Like it so much I have kept it to go back and review on occasion.

 Carrot Cake Cupcakes Makes 18 cupcakes CUPCAKES   2¼ cups all-purpose flour   1½ cups firmly packed light brown sugar   1 tablespoon baking powder  1 teaspoon ground cinnamon  ½ teaspoon salt  1½ cups grated carrots  ¾ cup vegetable oil  4 large eggs  1½ teaspoons vanilla extract    FROSTING  4 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature  6 tablespoons (¾ stick) unsalted butter, at room temperature  1 teaspoon vanilla extract  2 cups powdered sugar    DECORATIONS  ½ cup shredded coconut, toasted  Jelly beans or speckled malted milk chocolate eggs  To make the cupcakes, preheat the oven to 325°F. Line 18 cups of two standard muffin pans with paper or foil liners.  In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. In a medium bowl, combine the carrots, oil, eggs, and vanilla and stir until blended. Add the carrot mixture to the flour mixture and stir gently just until blended.  Divide the batter evenly among the prepared muffin cups, filling them only three-quarters full. Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean, 16 to 18 minutes. Remove the pans from the oven and set them on a wire rack. Let the cupcakes cool in the pans for about 10 minutes, then transfer them to the rack. Let cool completely.  To make the frosting, in a large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat the cream cheese, butter, and vanilla on medium speed until smooth, about 2 minutes. Turn off the mixer and scrape down the bowl with a rubber spatula. Sift the powdered sugar into the bowl, then beat on low speed until blended.  Using a small icing spatula, frost the cupcakes. Sprinkle the icing with the toasted coconut to create “nests,” then top each cupcake with three candies so that they look like “eggs.” Serve.
